Was “Amen” The Answer to the GAY Clergy?

Management finds it ironic that the “religious comedy” “Amen” was the first show to support a majority gay African American cast. For the African American church to unconsciously and sometimes blatantly denounce the act of homosexuality, the ratings of the program were supported majorly by African Americans with strong spiritual roots. Whether the viewers watched for the comedic aspects that may go on in the church, or due to a lack of “colorful” programming available at the time, whose to say. However, “Amen” did inadvertently assist in setting the tone for the current state of television. Go figure. – Management
